Last year I met a caged fairy who was doing her best to be free. Even though she didn't end up being completely free (she will one day) she gave me a gift priceless at best - a window into who I was.
Here are a few poems I wrote on her then:
WHISPERS OF THE FAIRY'S HEART
Years draped in silence, a melody unheard,
Her spirit a caged bird with a melody long deferred.
Though unseen restrictions dimmed her vibrant hue,
Haunted by echoes, seeking a healing solace so true.
But whispers of freedom now stir in her soul,
A butterfly's emergence, ready to take hold.
On wings etched with resilience, her spirit takes flight,
Her colors like dawn break the grip of the night.
Bound by the earth, she shed echoes so drear,
A fairy reborn, with celestial fire to revere.
A trail of stardust marks the path where she endears.
Her spirit finally ascends, bound for horizons unclear.
CAGED MELODY: A SONG OF HOPE
A bird in shadow, voice stifled and weak,
Bound by chains unseen, a soul too meek.
Whispers of freedom, a desperate plea,
Fear's icy grip, suffocating thee.
Yet hope's flame flickers, a fragile spark,
To break the shackles, to ignite the dark.
May your voice rise, defiant and strong,
Shatter the prison, where you don't belong.
One day, my friend, you'll break free and sing,
On wings of courage, your true self will bring.
I'll wait and watch with unwavering trust,
As you conquer your fears, and shed the dust.
RESILIENCE OF THE RELENTING HEART
The hearts essence reigns as it wanes,
The stars shine brightest when the daylight drains.
The vibrant hues of love begin to bleed,
Leaving empty spaces where joy would seed.
With every loss, a trembling heart may break,
Yet within the fragments, resilience will awake.
And though the past holds sacred treasures you may mourn,
The seeds of brighter love will be sown.
The canvas of your heart, forever bold,
Will paint a future filled with a vision untold.
